Position Summary:

AGC is seeking a Cold End Technician who is responsible for performing a variety of duties including fork truck driving, operating automation equipment, and hand-packing or repacking glass when necessary. Close cases of glass to store in the warehouse. Maintain a safe and clean work area.

Duties:

  • Always wear proper safety equipment while working.
  • Operate automation equipment for packing
  • Glass handling and packing into racks if automation equipment is down.
  • Discard broken and bad glass when necessary.
  • Operate fork truck in closing area.
  • Assure quality of glass in containers meets the customers specifications and remove defective glass.
  • Assist in repacking when necessary.
  • Walk sling packs to warehouse and prepare L-bucks (storage mechanism) properly.
  • Assist with size changes when necessary.
  • Assist fork truck drivers when stacking or setting down containers in the closing area.
  • Assist where necessary during an emergency and inform supervisor of problems.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to work a rotating 12 hour swing shift (7 am - 7 pm / 7 pm - 7am).
  • Must be able to work required overtime.

Benefits to the swing shift include:

  • Associates regular schedule includes 3 to 4 days off work.
  • Associates are off work during business hours during the work week to tend to personal business/attend school functions, etc.
  • Associates are scheduled to be off work for some three day weekends.
  • Rotating shift (working 36 hours one week and 48 the next week) builds in scheduled 10% overtime.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Hourly wage starts at $17.15/hour, plus shift differential of $1.00/hour for night shift. Ability to move to progressively higher pay as required skill blocks are attained.

Experience:

  • On-the-job training provided
  • Prefer previous experience on swing shift
  • Prefer previous manufacturing experience

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (GED) Preferred.
